Graduate and Research Information Systems is a group of professional staff and graduate students working under the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Education to provide information systems support for the many organizations that construct the Office. This includes the Graduate School, the Office for Sponsored Programs, Research Compliance, the Research Advisory Council, and the Office for Animal Research Services, along with many others.

GRIS provides a broad spectrum of information systems support. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Maintenance of over 60 desktop workstations
• Maintenance of a wide variety of workgroup printers
• Administration of the Office's two servers:
  • Linux based file and mail server
  • Linux based WWW, FTP, and SQL server
• Administration of a large number of legacy databases
• Local Area Network administration and support
• Providing information requested from the Graduate School databases by departments outside of the VPRGE
• Maintenance of all departmental webpages
