Installing IBM Workplace Forms (PureEdge) Viewer for Macintosh

IBM has provided Special Edition Mac Viewers for PowerPC and Intel platforms that are now available for download on the Grants.gov web site. You may wish to use this software if you do not have access to Microsoft Windows or the Citrix server. Caution: According to IBM, this is still a pre-release version. Use of this software is at your own risk. OSP cannot be responsible in the event of loss of data or damage to your computer.

System Requirements

• Macintosh OS X "Tiger" (10.4.6 or higher); Workplace forms viewer is incompatable with Leopard 10.5
• Safari browsers version 2.0 or higher
• PowerPC G4, G5, or Intel-based Processor

Installation

1. Download the IBM Workplace Viewer software from the Grants.gov web site. Be sure to select the proper link for your computer (Intel-duo or PowerPC)
2. Extract the Workplace Viewer installation package and double-click on the .dmg file to unpack it.

   

3. Once it is unpacked, double-click the .pkg file to launch the Workplace Viewer installation.

   

4. Follow the instructions provided by the installation wizard to complete the install. You may need to restart the machine.

   

   Note: The viewer is installed at the root level of the user account home directory. Do not move the application folder to any other location as it will not work.
5. The installation is complete. The installation is complete. Grants.gov PureEdge files can now be viewed and edited locally without a Citrix connection.

   

Final Notes

Be sure to save your work often and under a new file name each time. This is a good way to ensure that you will always have a recent backup copy in the event that a file becomes corrupted or un-readable.
